Privacy Statement

Nova Scotia Health ("NS Health") maintains the confidentiality and privacy of individuals' personal information and personal health information while collecting, using, and disclosing information to follow applicable privacy laws, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPOP), the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), and the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act (PIIDPA). NS Health supports the right of individuals or their authorized representatives to access and to ask to correct their personal information and personal health information, unless a law prohibits doing so.

NS Health will not collect, use, or disclose personal information or personal health information in any manner that doesn’t follow its established policies or applicable privacy laws, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Personal Health Information Act, or the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act.

NS Health may use or disclose personal information or personal health information for approved purposes set out in the applicable privacy laws, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Personal Health Information Act, or the Personal Information International Disclosure Protection Act.

NS Health may collect personal information or personal health information when you voluntarily complete any online application, request form, survey, or when you subscribe to NS Health short message service (SMS) services. 

Personal information or personal health information collected will only be used for the stated purposes.  Information is collected under section 24(1) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and sections 30-31 of the Personal Health Information Act, as applicable.

Any information collected such as the visitor's Internet Protocol address, web browser, and pages accessed, is combined and used internally by NS Health in a way that doesn’t identify each user , to help us manage and improve the content, and to diagnose technical problems of our website to better serve you.
